Enable Battery Saving Mode:
- Open the apps drawer and launch Settings
- Scroll to System
- Tap Battery
- Tap the Power saving mode switch to ON
- Tap Start power saving and select a battery percentage at which the battery saving mode should enable automatically
Enable Ultra Power Saving Mode:
- Tap Apps on the home screen
- Open Settings
- Scroll to System
- Tap Battery and enable Ultra power saving mode
- Tap Agree
- To add more applications on the Ultra power saving mode home screen, tap +
Disable Connectivity Features When Unused:
NOTE: By disabling Wi-Fi, Hotspot, GPS, and Bluetooth while unused, you can improve battery life in the long run.
- Open the Settings menu
- Scroll to Connections
- Tap the switches next to the connectivity options you want to turn off
Switch to 2G Connectivity:
NOTE: If your phone runs low on battery life and you dont have access to a wall socket or battery bank, you can conserve battery life until the next recharge by temporarily switching to 2G connectivity. To do this:
- Open the apps drawer
- Go to Settings
- Scroll to Connections and tap More connection settings
- Tap Mobile networks > Network mode
- Select GSM only
Lower the Screen Brightness and Timeout Duration:
- Open Settings
- Tap Display under Device
- Tap Automatic brightness and, if necessary, disable this feature
- Drag the brightness slider towards the left side of the screen to decrease luminosity
- Tap Screen timeout and choose a lower timeout value such as 15 seconds
Disable Background Data:
- Open Settings
- Under Connections, tap Data usage
- Tap More > Restrict background data
- Tap OK to confirm
Minimize Third Party App Usage:
NOTE: Certain third party applications can affect battery life even when unused, due to the fact that certain applications perform regular background processes. As such, by disabling or removing unused third party apps, you can improve battery life in the long run.
- Open the apps drawer
- Launch Settings
- Under Device, tap Applications
- Tap Application manager
- Swipe to Downloaded and select the desired app
- Tap Disable / Turn off
- To remove an application, tap Uninstall twice
Change Sync Settings:
NOTE: By reducing the amount of data being synced by your applications / accounts, you can improve battery life in the long run.
- Go to Settings
- Scroll to Personal and tap Accounts
- Select the desired account type and choose an account
- Clear the check boxes next to the sync options you want to turn off
- When ready, tap Menu > Sync now to apply the changes
