Restore Contacts from a Google Account:

  1. If necessary, sign in with the Google account used for the initial backup
  2. Open the phone’s “Settings” menu
  3. Under “User and Backup”, tap “Accounts”
  4. Select “Google” and tap your “user name” or “email address” at the top
  5. Ensure “Contacts” is selected
  6. Tap “Menu” > “Sync now”

Restore Contacts from Storage / SD Card:

  1. If you’re planning to restore contacts from SD, make sure the proper microSD card is fitted
  2. Tap “Apps” on the home screen
  3. Open “Settings”
  4. Under “Device”, tap “Applications”
  5. Go to “Contacts”
  6. Select “Import” and choose “Storage” or “SD Card”, depending on the backup location
  7. Select to import (restore) multiple or a single vCard
  8. If necessary, select the vCard you want to restore
  9. Choose to restore the vCard on “Device storage” or to sync the contacts with “Google”

Restore Media Files from an SD Card:

  1. Open the apps drawer
  2. Launch “My Files”
  3. Tap “SD Card” under “Local storage”
  4. Tap “More” > “Edit”
  5. Check the boxes next to the media files you want to restore
  6. Tap “More” > “Move”
  7. Select “Device storage”
  8. Tap “Create folder” or navigate to the desired target folder
  9. Tap “Move here” to restore the files

Restore Media Files from a PC:

  1. Connect the Samsung Galaxy J7 Prime to your computer via USB
  2. Enable “Media device (MTP)” / “File Transfer (MTP)” from the pop-up or from the “Notification” area
  3. On the computer, launch the File Explorer
  4. Locate the media files backed up on the computer
  5. Copy the files and transfer them on the phone storage, preferably in the “Media” directory or the folder(s) they originate from
  6. After the transfer is complete, eject the phone storage via system tray and safely disconnect the device from the USB cord

Restore Media Files from a Mac Computer:

  1. Connect the Samsung device to your Mac via USB
  2. Enable “Media device (MTP)” / “File Transfer (MTP)” at the prompt or from the “Notification” area
  3. On the Mac, launch Kies
  4. Inside Kies, click the “Back up / restore” tab
  5. Access the “Restore” tab
  6. Tick the boxes next to “Photos”, “Music”, and other media file types you want to restore (or tap “Select all”)
  7. Click “Restore” and, if necessary, follow any on-screen prompts that may follow
  8. After the process is complete, eject the phone storage by dragging > dropping the virtual drive from the desktop and into the “Trash can”
  9. You can now safely disconnect the device from the USB port
