Sync iPhone Contacts Using iTunes:

NOTE: With iTunes on a computer connected to the Internet, you can sync the contacts on your iPhone with your Google account. You can then sync the account data, including contacts, with the Samsung Galaxy J5 Prime.

  1. Open iTunes on the computer
  2. Establish a USB connection between the iPhone and computer using the Lightning cable
  3. In iTunes, click the iPhone and go to “Info”
  4. Enable “Sync Contacts With” and select “Google Contacts” from the drop-down menu
  5. Sign in with your Google account. Alternatively, click “Configure” and select an existing account
  6. Click “Apply” to begin the sync
  7. Once the sync is complete, switch to the Galaxy J5 Prime and sign in with the same Google account used in iTunes
  8. Set the account to sync contacts with your Android phone

Share iPhone Contacts from iCloud Backup:

NOTE: If your iPhone contacts are backed up on your iCloud account, you can sign in to your account on a computer connected to the Internet, and export the contacts in vCard format for Android use.

  1. Open the Internet browser on the PC
  2. Head down to https://www.icloud.com/ and sign in with your iCloud account
  3. Click “Contacts” and select the contacts you want to share
  4. Click “Settings” > “Export vCard”
  5. Once the vCard has been downloaded on the computer, follow one of these steps:
    • Import the vCard to “Google Contacts” using the Internet browser on the PC, or:
    • Connect the Samsung phone to your computer via USB, transfer the vCard to the phone storage, and import it to your phonebook via “Contacts”

Via “My Contacts Backup”:

NOTE: While the methods above require a computer with an active Internet connection, alternatively you can transfer your contacts using third party apps. My Contacts Backup is an iOS app that can back up and transfer iPhone contacts via email.

  1. Go to the App Store and install “My Contacts Backup” on the iPhone
  2. Launch the app and tap “Backup” to create a backup file containing your iPhone contacts
  3. Tap “Email” and make sure the email contains the vCard backup file as an attachment
  4. Send the email and attachment to your own address
  5. Switch to the Samsung phone, open the email and download the vCard attachment
  6. Import the vCard to your phonebook via “Contacts”

Using “Send Anywhere”:

NOTE: Another third party app you can use on Android and iOS is Send Anywhere. The app uses a peer-2-peer connection to transfer contacts and other file types without requiring a computer.

  1. Go to the App Store and install “Send Anywhere” on the iPhone
  2. Visit the Google Play Store and install the same app on the Samsung device
  3. Launch the app on both devices
  4. Tap “Send” > “Contacts” on the iPhone
  5. Select the desired contacts and tap “Send”
  6. Lastly, select a transfer method, such as “Receive” on the Samsung device or “Generate QR Code” on the iPhone
