Clear App Cache / Data:
NOTE: In case one of your apps doesnt work as intended, crashes, freezes, or takes up too much storage inexplicably, you can try solving these problems by clearing the apps cache / data.
WARNING! When you clear an apps data, all personal data stored within the app, including settings, profiles, high scores, login and credit card information, save files etc. will be deleted. To avoid losing all personal app data, clear ONLY the applications cache.
- Open the apps drawer
- Launch Settings
- Scroll to Device and tap Applications
- Tap Application manager
- Swipe to All or Downloaded
- Select the desired app and tap Clear cache
- If needed, tap Clear data > OK (read WARNING above)
Clear the Phones Cache Partition:
NOTE: If your phone crashes, freezes, or runs out of storage inexplicably and youre considering factory resetting it, you can try solving these problems by clearing the cache partition. Clearing the cache can yield similar results to a factory reset, without losing any personal data on the device storage.
- Turn off the phone
- Press and hold Power, Volume Up and Home at the same time
- Release Power when the Samsung logo appears
- At the Android screen, release Volume Up and Home as well
- Once in the Recovery menu, press Volume down repeatedly to navigate to and highlight wipe cache partition
- Press Power to confirm
- After the cache partition is cleared, Reboot system now should be highlighted
- Press Power to confirm and restart your phone

Reboot to Safe Mode and Uninstall an App:
NOTE: If you have installed a third party app that causes issues and prevents you from uninstalling it, you should be able to remove the app from within Safe Mode. In this mode, all third party apps are turned off by default.
- First turn off the phone
- Press and hold Power
- At the Samsung logo, release Power and immediately press & hold Volume down instead
- Once the phone finishes restarting, release all buttons. A Safe Mode label should be visible in the lower-left area of the home screen
- To remove an application, go to Settings and scroll to Device
- Tap Applications > Application manager
- Go to Downloaded and select the app you want to remove
- Tap Uninstall two times to confirm and remove the application
- To exit Safe Mode, press and hold Power and then tap Reboot to confirm
