How-to: Samsung Galaxy A5 (2017): Manage Contacts, Caller Groups, and the Call Log

Create a New Contact:

1. Launch “Contacts”
2. Tap “+” and select the desired location for storing the contact
3. Tap “Phone” and select the desired phone number type
4. Enter the contact’s phone number, name, and other details in the appropriate fields
5. Tap “Save” when done

Add Contacts to Speed Dial:

1. Open “Phone”
2. Tap the “Keypad” and press “Menu”
3. Access “Speed Dial”
4. Select the dial pad number you want to use for speed dialing
5. Select the contact you want to link with the speed dial number

Import / Export Contacts:

1. Open “Contacts”
2. Access the “Contacts” tab
3. Tap “Menu” and go to “Settings”
4. Go to “Contacts” and tap “Import / Export”
5. Select to “Import from SD card”, “Import from SIM card”, or to export contacts

Deleting Contacts:

1. Launch “Contacts”
2. Go to the “Contacts” tab
3. Access “Menu”
4. Tap “Delete” twice and select the contact you want to remove
5. Tap “Done” > “OK” to confirm

Access and Clear the Call Log:

1. Open “Phone” and access the “Logs” tab
2. Select a call log entry to view more details
3. To reset the call log, go to the “Logs” screen and tap “Menu”
4. Tap “Delete” > “Select all”
5. Tap “Done” > “OK” to confirm

Create a New Caller Group:

1. Open “Contacts”
2. Access the “Groups” tab
3. Tap “Create” and enter the desired name for the group
4. Tap “Add member”
5. Select a contact to be a part of the group
6. Tap “Done” > “Save”

Assign Contacts to an Existing Caller Group:

1. Launch “Contacts”
2. Go to “Groups”
3. Tap “+” and select the desired group
4. Tap “+” and select the contact you want to add
5. Tap “Done” to confirm
