    Back Up App Data:

    1. Open the apps drawer and launch “Settings”
    2. Scroll to and tap “Cloud and accounts”
    3. Tap “Backup & restore”
    4. Enable “Back up my data” to back up account data, Wi-Fi passwords, and settings to your Google account
    5. Enable “Automatic Restore” to allow data to be restored automatically when reinstalling apps

    Back Up Contacts:

    1. Open the apps drawer
    2. Go to “Settings”
    3. Tap “Cloud and accounts” > “Accounts”
    4. Select the account you want to use for contact syncing
    5. Tap “Menu” > “Sync now”

    Back Up Contacts to SD Card:

    1. Launch “Contacts”
    2. Tap “Menu” > “Settings”
    3. If needed, tap “Contacts to display” > “All contacts”
    4. Tap “Import / Export contacts”
    5. Tap “Export to SD card” > “OK” to confirm

    Back Up Media Files On The Phone Storage:

    1. Open the “Samsung” folder
    2. Launch “My Files”
    3. Tap “Internal storage”
    4. Tap “Menu” > “Share”
    5. Select the content you want to back up and tap “Share” again
    6. Select the location you want to back up your files

    Back Up Media Files on a Windows PC:

    1. Connect the Samsung device to your computer via USB
    2. Enable “Media device” / “File Transfer” when prompted or from the “Notification” area
    3. Launch the File Explorer on the computer
    4. Locate the desired media files on the phone storage
    5. Copy and paste the files in the desired backup location on the computer
    6. Once the transfer is done, eject the phone storage via system tray and safely disconnect the device from the USB cord

    Back Up Media Files on a Mac Computer:

    NOTE: In case Samsung Kies is already installed on the Mac, skip the first 3 steps.

    1. Launch the Internet browser on the Mac
    2. Visit Kies Support
    3. Click “Kies 3 for Mac” and install Kies on the computer
    4. Establish a USB connection between the Samsung device and Mac
    5. On the phone, enable “Media device” / “File Transfer” when prompted or from the “Notification” shade
    6. Open Kies on the Mac and access the “Back up / Restore” tab
    7. Go to the “Backup” tab
    8. Tick the check boxes associated with “Photos”, “Music” and other media file types you want to back up
    9. Click “Backup” to start the process
    10. After the process is complete, eject the phone storage by dragging the phone’s virtual drive from the desktop and dropping it into the “Trash can”
    11. Safely disconnect the phone from the USB port
