Restore Contacts from an SD Card Backup:

  1. Open the apps drawer
  2. Launch “Contacts”
  3. Tap “Menu” > “Settings”
  4. If necessary, tap “Contacts to display” > “All contacts”
  5. Tap “Import / Export contacts” > “Import from SD card”
  6. Tap “OK” to confirm

Restore Media Files from SD Card:

  1. Open the “Samsung” folder
  2. Launch “My Files”
  3. Tap “SD card” > “Menu” > “Edit”
  4. Navigate to and tick the check boxes associated with the media files you want to restore
  5. Tap “Menu” > “Move”
  6. Select “Internal storage”
  7. Tap “More here” or, to move the files to a different location tap the folder name or “Create folder” and press “Move here”

Restore Media Files from a Windows PC:

  1. Connect the Samsung device to your computer via USB
  2. Enable “File Transfer” / “Media device” when prompted or from the “Notification” area
  3. Open the File Explorer on the computer
  4. Locate and transfer the media file backups on the PC
  5. Transfer the files on the phone storage, preferably in the “Media” folder or the directory they originate from
  6. After the transfer is complete, eject the phone storage via system tray and safely disconnect the device from the USB cord

Restore Media Files from a Mac Computer:

  1. Connect the Samsung device to your computer via USB
  2. Enable “Media device” / “File Transfer” when prompted or from the “Notification” area
  3. Launch Kies on the Mac and go to the “Back up / restore” tab
  4. Access “Restore” and tick the boxes associated with “Music”, “Photos” and other media file types you want to restore
  5. Click “Restore” and follow the on-screen steps to complete the process
  6. Once done, drag the phone’s virtual drive from the desktop and drop it in the “Trash can” to eject the phone storage
  7. Safely disconnect the phone from the USB cord
