    Back Up App Data:

    1. Open the apps drawer and launch “Settings”
    2. Scroll to and tap “Cloud and accounts”
    3. Tap “Backup & restore”
    4. Enable “Back up my data” to back up app data, Wi-Fi passwords, and settings to your Google account
    5. Enable “Automatic restore” to allow app data to be restored automatically when reinstalling apps or signing in with your backup account

    Back Up Contacts:

    1. Launch “Settings”
    2. Tap “Cloud and accounts”
    3. Go to “Accounts”
    4. Select the account you want to use for syncing contacts
    5. Tap “Menu” > “Sync now”

    Back Up Contacts to SD Card:

    1. Launch “Contacts”
    2. Tap “Menu” and go to “Settings”
    3. If necessary, tap “Contacts to display” and select “All contacts”
    4. Tap “Import/Export contacts”
    5. Tap “Export to SD Card” > “OK” to confirm

    Back Up Media Files on the Phone Storage:

    1. Open “My Files”
    2. Tap “Internal storage”
    3. Tap “Menu” > “Share”
    4. Select the content you want to back up and tap “Share” again

    Back Up Media Files on a Windows PC:

    1. Connect the Samsung Galaxy J3 (2017) to your PC via USB
    2. Enable “Media device” / “File Transfer” when prompted or from the “Notification” area
    3. Launch the File Explorer on the computer and locate the media files on the phone storage
    4. Copy and transfer the files in the desired backup location on the PC
    5. Once the transfer is complete, eject the phone storage via system tray and safely disconnect the device from the USB port

    Back Up Media Files on a Mac Computer:

    NOTE: In case Samsung Kies is already installed on the Mac, you can skip the first 3 steps below.

    1. Launch the Internet browser on the Mac
    2. Head down to Samsung Kies
    3. Click “Download for Mac” and follow the on-screen prompts to install Kies on the Mac
    4. Connect the Samsung phone to your Mac via USB
    5. Enable “File Transfer” / “Media device” at the prompt or from the “Notification” area
    6. Open Kies on the Mac and access “Back up / Restore”
    7. Go to the “Backup” tab
    8. Tick the boxes associated with “Photos”, “Music” and other types of media files you want to back up
    9. Click “Backup” to start the process
    10. Once the backup is complete, eject the phone storage by dragging its virtual drive from the desktop and dropping it into the “trash can”
    11. You can now safely disconnect the device from the USB port
