Transfer Audio Files from a Windows PC:

  1. Connect the Samsung Galaxy Note FE to your computer via USB
  2. Enable “Media device (MTP)” / “File Transfer” at the prompt or from the “Notification” area
  3. Launch the File Explorer on the computer
  4. Locate the desired audio files on the computer storage
  5. Copy and transfer the files in on the phone storage, preferably in the “Ringtones” / “Notifications” folders
  6. After the transfer is complete, eject the phone storage via system tray and safely disconnect the device from the USB port

Transfer Audio Files from a Mac Computer:

NOTE: If Samsung Kies is already installed on the Mac, skip the first 3 steps below.

  1. Launch the Internet browser on the computer
  2. Visit Samsung Kies
  3. Click “Kies 3 for Mac” and follow the on-screen steps to install the app on your Mac
  4. Connect the Samsung device to your computer via USB
  5. Enable “Media device” / “File Transfer” when prompted or from the “Notification” area
  6. Open Kies on the Mac and click the “Folder” icon associated with “Internal memory” or “External memory”
  7. Open the File Finder on the Mac and locate the desired audio files on the Mac storage
  8. Drag and drop the desired files into Kies to begin the transfer
  9. After the transfer is done, eject the phone storage by dragging its virtual drive from the desktop and dropping it into the trash can
  10. You can now safely disconnect the phone from the USB

Add Audio Files to the Ringtone List:

  1. Open “Settings”
  2. Tap “Sounds and notifications” under “Device”
  3. Tap “Ringtones and sounds” > “Ringtone”
  4. Tap “Add ringtone” and select “Sound picker”
  5. Select whether to use the sound picker “Always” or “Just once”
  6. Then select the audio files you want to add and tap “Done”

Change the General Ringtone:

  1. Launch “Settings”
  2. Tap “Sounds and notifications” under “Device”
  3. Tap “Ringtones and sounds” > “Ringtone”
  4. Select the desired ringtone and tap “Back”

Change a Specific Contact’s Ringtone:

NOTE: Custom ringtones cannot be assigned to contacts stored on the phone’s internal memory or the SIM card.

  1. Open “Contacts”
  2. Select the contact whose ringtone you want to change
  3. Tap “Edit” > “Ringtone”
  4. Select the desired ringtone and tap “OK”
  5. Tap “Save” to confirm

Change the Notification Sound:

  1. Launch “Settings” and scroll to “Device”
  2. Tap “Sounds & Notifications”
  3. Tap “Ringtones and sound” under “Sounds”
  4. Select the notification type and the desired notification sound
  5. Press “Back” to confirm
