Back Up App Data:
- Open Settings
- Scroll to and tap Cloud and accounts
- Tap Backup & restore
- Enable Back up my data to back up app data, settings, and passwords to your Google account
- Enable Automatic restore to allow app data, settings and passwords to be restored automatically when reinstalling apps or signing in with the backup account
Back Up Contacts:
- Launch Settings
- Tap Cloud and accounts
- Access Accounts
- Select the account you want to use for syncing the contacts
- Tap Menu > Sync Now
Back Up Contacts to SD Card:
- Open Contacts
- Tap Menu
- Go to Settings
- If necessary, select Contacts to display > All contacts
- Tap Import/Export contacts > Export to SD Card
- Tap OK to confirm
Back Up Media Files on the Phone Storage:
- Open My Files from the Samsung folder
- Tap Internal storage
- Go to Menu > Share
- Select the content you want to back up
- Tap Share and select the desired backup location
Back Up Media Files on a Windows PC:
- Connect the Samsung device to your computer via USB
- Enable File Transfer / Media device when prompted or form the Notification area
- Launch the File Explorer on the computer
- Locate the media files on the phone storage
- Copy and transfer the files in the desired backup location on the computer
- Once the transfer is done, eject the phone storage via system tray and safely disconnect the device from the USB port
Back Up Media Files on a Mac Computer:
NOTE: If Samsung Kies is already installed on the Mac, skip the first 3 steps below:
- Launch the Internet browser on the Mac
- Visit Samsung Kies
- Click Download for Mac and install Kies on the computer
- Once done, connect the Samsung device to the Mac via USB
- Enable Media device / File Transfer when prompted or from the notification shade
- Open Kies on the Mac
- Access Back up / restore and go to the Backup tab
- Tick the check boxes associated with Photos, Music and other file types you want to back up
- Click Backup to start the process
- Once done, eject the phone storage by dragging and dropping the phones virtual drive from the desktop and into the Trash can
- You can safely disconnect the phone from the USB cord
