Restore Contacts from an SD Card:
- Open the apps drawer
- Launch Settings
- Scroll to Device
- Tap Applications and go to Contacts
- Select to Import/Export contacts
- Tap Import > SD Card
- Select to import a single or multiple vCard files
- If necessary, tap the vCard you want to restore
- Select to store contacts on Device storage or to sync them with Google
Restore Contacts from a Google Account:
- Open Settings
- Scroll to User and Backup
- Access Accounts
- Select Google and your email address or username at the top of the screen
- Make sure Contacts is checked
- Tap Menu > Sync now
Restore Media Files from an SD Card:
- Open My Files
- Scroll to Local storage
- Tap SD card > More > Edit
- Tick the boxes associated with the media files you want to restore
- Tap More > Move > Device storage
- Navigate to and select the desired target folder, or tap Create folder
- Tap Move here
Restore Media Files from a Windows PC:
- Connect the Samsung phone to your computer via USB
- Enable File Transfer / Media device at the prompt or from the Notification area
- Open the File Explorer on the Mac
- Locate the media file backups on the Mac storage
- Copy and transfer the backup files on the phone storage, preferably in the Media directory
- After the transfer is done, eject the phone storage via system tray and safely disconnect the device from the USB port
Restore Media Files form a Mac Computer:
- Connect the phone to your computer via USB
- Enable File Transfer / Media device on the phone
- Launch Kies on the Mac and access Back up / restore
- Go to the Restore tab
- Tick the boxes associated with Music, Photos and other media file types you want to restore
- Select the desired files or tap Select all
- Click Restore to confirm
- Once the restore is complete, eject the phone storage by dragging and dropping the phones virtual drive from the desktop and into the trash can
- Safely disconnect the phone from the USB port
