Restore Contacts from an SD Card Backup:
- Open Contacts
- Tap Menu
- Go to Settings
- If necessary, tap Contacts to display > All contacts
- Tap Import/Export contacts
- Select to Import from SD card
- If necessary, select the desired backup file and tap OK
Restore Media Files from SD Storage:
- Open My Files
- Select SD Card
- Tap Menu > Edit
- Tick the boxes associated with the media files you want to restore
- Tap Menu > Move
- Select Internal storage > Move here
- Alternatively, select a different location by tapping Create folder
Restore Media Files from a Windows PC:
- Connect the Android phone to the computer via USB
- Enable File Transfer / Media device when prompted or from the Notification area
- Open the File Explorer on the computer
- Locate the media file backups on the PC
- Transfer the files to the phone storage, preferably in the Media directory or the folder(s) of origin
- After the transfer completes, eject the phone storage via system tray and safely disconnect the phone from the USB port
Restore Media Files from a Mac:
- Connect the Samsung phone to the Mac via USB
- Enable File Transfer / Media device when prompted or from the Notification area on the phone
- Open Kies on the Mac
- Inside Kies, click the Back up / restore tab
- Go to the Restore tab and tick the boxes associated with Music, Photos and other type of files you want to restore
- Click Restore and follow the on-screen steps to complete the process
- After the process completes, eject the phone storage by dragging the virtual drive from the desktop and dropping it into the Trash can
- Once done, you can safely disconnect the device from the USB cord
