Clear an Apps Cache/Data:
NOTE: If one of your apps doesnt work as intended or takes up too much storage inexplicably, you can try to solve these problems by clearing the apps cache or data.
WARNING! When you clear an apps data, all your personal data stored within the app, such as user profiles, high scores, login information etc. will be deleted. To avoid this, clear ONLY The apps cache.
- Open Settings
- Go to Apps
- Select the desired app and access Storage
- Tap Clear cache
- If clearing the cache didnt help, tap Clear data (check Warning above)
Reset the Cache Partition:
NOTE: If your phone freezes, crashes, runs out of storage inexplicably or otherwise doesnt work as intended and youre considering a factory reset, alternatively you can try fixing these issues by clearing the cache partition. This can have the same results as a factory reset without losing any personal data on the phone.
- Turn the phone Off
- Press and hold Volume Up and Home at the same time
- Press and hold Power as well
- At the Android screen ,release the buttons and wait for access to Recovery
- Once in Recovery, press volume down repeatedly to navigate to and highlight Wipe data/factory reset
- Press Power to select the highlighted option
- Highlight Wipe cache partition and press Power
- Highlight Yes to confirm and press Power again
- Once done, ensure Reboot system now is highlighted and press Power one last time

Reboot to Safe Mode and Remove an App:
NOTE: If one of your third-party apps causes problems and you are unable to remove it, you should be able to uninstall the app from Safe Mode. In this mode, al third-party apps are disabled by default.
- Turn the phone Off if necessary
- Press and hold Power
- At the Samsung screen, release Power and quickly press and hold Volume down instead
- After the phone finishes rebooting ,release all the buttons. Once on the home screen, a Safe Mode watermark should be visible in the lower area of the display
- To remove an app, open Settings then go to Apps
- Select the desired app and tap Uninstall
- To exit Safe Mode, reboot the device as you would do normally
