Reset Network Settings:
NOTE: When you reset network settings, all saved Bluetooth and Wi-Fi connections will be deleted. Additionally, data restrictive settings, network selection mode, and background sync settings will be restored to default.
- Open Settings
- Go to General Management
- Tap Reset > Reset networks
- If the phone is protected by a lock screen, enter the password/PIN to proceed
- Tap Reset settings
Hard Reset
WARNING! When you hard reset your phone, all data located on the internal memory will be deleted, including ringtones and other media files, contacts, apps, downloaded content etc. However, data located on the SIM and SD storage wont be affected.
NOTE: Before you factory reset your device, you can visit this thread for a guide on how to back up data, and this thread for instructions on restoring data.
Hard Reset via Settings:
- Launch Settings
- Access Sound and Accounts
- Tap Backup and restore
- Optionally, enable or disable Restore and Back up my data
- Go back to Settings and access General management
- Tap Reset > Factory data reset
- Tap Reset device
- In case the device is protected by a lock screen, enter your PIN/password to proceed
- Tap Continue > Delete all
Hard Reset via Android Recovery:
NOTE: If your phone freezes, crashes, or otherwise its preventing you from resetting it via Settings, alternatively you can try resetting the phone from the Android Recovery menu which can be accessed by performing the following:
- Turn the phone Off if necessary
- Next, press and hold Volume Up and Home at the same time, then press and hold Power as well
- At the android screen, release the buttons and wait for access to Android Recovery
- While in Recovery, press Volume down repeatedly to navigate the menu and highlight Wipe data/factory reset
- Press Power to confirm the selection
- Highlight Yes delete all user data using the volume rocker
- Press Power to confirm
- Then, highlight Reboot system now and press Power one more time to confirm and reboot the device
