Back Up App Data:
- Launch Settings
- Access Cloud and accounts > Backup & Restore
- Enable Back up my data to back up app data, settings, and Wi-Fi passwords to your backup account
- Enable Automatic Restore to allow app data, settings, and passwords to be restored automatically when you sign in with the backup account or reinstall apps
Back Up Contacts:
- Open Contacts and access Cloud and accounts
- Access Accounts
- Tap an account type and select the desired account to use for syncing contacts
- Ensure Contacts is checked
- Tap Menu > Sync Now
Back Up Contacts to SD or Internal Storage:
- Launch Settings
- Access Applications > Contacts
- Select to Import/Export contacts
- Tap Export and select Storage or SD Card
- Tap OK
Back Up Media Files to SD Storage:
- Open My Files
- Access Local storage
- Tap Device storage
- Tap More > Edit
- Select the media files you want to back up
- Tap More > Copy > SD Card
- Select the desired folder or tap Create folder
- Tap Paste here
Back Up Media Files on a Windows PC:
- Connect the Android phone to the computer via USB
- On the phone, enable File Transfer / Media device when prompted or from the Notification area
- Launch the File Explorer on the computer
- Locate the media files on the phone
- Copy and transfer the files to the desired backup location on the PC
- Once completed, eject the phone storage and safely disconnect the phone from the USB port
Back Up Media Files on a Mac Computer:
NOTE: If Samsung Kies is already installed on the Mac, skip the first 3 steps below:
- Open the Internet browser on the Mac
- Head down to https://www.samsung.com/us/support/owners/app/kies
- Click Download for Mac and install the app on the computer
- Connect the phone to the Mac via USB
- On the phone, enable Media device / File Transfer when prompted or from the Notification area
- Open Kies on the Mac
- In Kies go to Backup and tick the boxes associated with Music Photos and other media file types you want to back up
- Click Backup to start the sync
- Once done, drag the phones virtual drive from the desktop and drop it over the trash can to eject it
- Safely disconnect the phone from the USB port
