NOTE: You can visit this thread for instructions on how to back up contacts, media files, and app data on the device.

Restore Contacts from SD Storage:

  1. Open “Contacts” and tap “Menu”
  2. Go to “Settings”
  3. Tap “Contacts to display” and select “All contacts”
  4. Access “Import/Export contacts”
  5. Tap “Import from SD Card” > “OK”

Restore Media Files from SD Storage:

  1. Launch “My Files”
  2. Go to “SD card”
  3. Tap “Menu” > “Edit”
  4. Tick the boxes associated with the media file types you want to restore
  5. Tap “Menu” > “Move” > “Internal storage”
  6. Tap “Move here” or “Create folder” and select the folder name
  7. Tap “Move here” to confirm

Restore Media Files from a Windows PC:

  1. Connect the Android device to the computer via USB
  2. On the phone, enable “Media device” / “File Transfer” at the prompt or from the Notification area
  3. Launch the File Explorer on the computer
  4. Copy and transfer the files to the phone storage, preferably in the “Media” folder or the directories of origin
  5. After the process completes, eject the phone storage and safely disconnect the phone from the USB port

Restore Media Files from a Mac:

  1. Connect the Android device to the Mac via USB
  2. Enable “File Transfer” / “Media device” on the phone, when prompted or from the Notification area
  3. Open Kies on the Mac and access the “Back up / Restore” tab
  4. Go to “Restore” and tick the boxes associated with the media file types you wish to restore
  5. Click “Restore” and follow the prompts
  6. Once done, eject the phone storage by dragging its virtual drive from the desktop and dropping it over the trash can
  7. You can now safely disconnect the phone from the USB cord
