I purchased a Samsung R225 (T-Mobile) on ebay for use on T-Mobile. But when I turn it on, the first screen says "Phone is locked. Enter Password". Tried 0000, 1234, and 00000000 -- didn't work. Called T-Mobile, they suggested I call Samsung. Samsung said either send the phone to them or take it to a T-Mobile Authorized Store to have it "flashed". Took it to a T-Mobile store, they said the seller has to give us the password -- they can't do anything. Seller says they never set a password. This isn't a SIM lock, it is the phone.
Any ideas?
Thanks!

Sometimes the lock password is the last 4 digits of the telephone number. Maybe asking the seller what the last 4 digits of his tele phone number was. Unless if its a brand new phone I have no idea.

To unlock the sim for the Samsung R225,try the last four digits of yours (or the previous owners)social security number and press (ok). That should work.

Re: Phone Locked - Enter Password -- Samsung R225
Turn off your phone.
Remove the battery and SIM card from your phone, and wait for a few seconds.
Reinsert the battery, but leave the SIM card out.
Turn on the phone.
The phone should display a message saying "Insert SIM Card." Enter the following code: 27673855#
The phone will restart automatically and the password will be reset to the default factory setting, which is typically 00000000 or 12345678.
