I've had my A900 since the 1st of June and have already been through 3 different phones. When someone calls the picture that come up with the number is never the right one and sometimes there is even just lines that come up on the screen. The tech. at the Sprint store said that it wasn't fixable and they just give me a new phone, but this problem has been consistant with all 3 phones. If anyone knows of any ways to fix it please let me know. THANK YOU

I am having the same problem. Still within my 30 days of purchase. Not sure if I should take it back to store, demand new phone, not have them transfer the phone book & re-enter it all myself (which I do not really want to do) or just deal with it.

Any suggestions? Has the problem been fixed with the phones??

    Thanks

FIXED A900 problems with the photo caller ID

I previously had the problem with my A900 with the caller ID.. I've asked Sprint for help several times but it was still unable to be fixed....BUT I have figured out what the problem was. In your phone book you can't have a 1 before the numbers. SO in your phone book you just have to have to area code with out a 1 before it. Hope that helps everyone that is having that problem.

I have numbers in both ways & still happens no matter if there is a 1 prior to a/c or not. You sure this is the fix before I go & edit hundreds of entries?

This holds true for practically any phone. If you want the picture id or video id to work, make sure the phone number is stored as 10 digits! the 7-digit local number isn't going to be recognized by the caller id, and if you stick a 1 before the area code, it won't recognize it either. I'm sure that's what the entire problem was.

My caller id is faulty when there is a 1 and when there is not a 1. The pictures come up with wrong person or all scrambly lines (like staticy). Does not happen all the time either. Hit or miss and no way of knowing if it happens until I answer the call.

^^^ If you're in the first 30 days, go to the store and ask for the manager. Tell them if you don't walk out with a new phone, or if they don't fix the problem with the one you have, you are going to cancel the contract on the spot. This will get someone moving, guaranteed! However, if you walk in on the 31st day and tell them that, they will likely just scoff at you and ask for the early termination fee.

Remember, in the 30 day trial period you have the power to make a lot of demands (within reason), they don't want to lose you before the contract becomes finalized.

Re: A900 problems with the photo caller ID

I called them already and the tech support person said it is a phone problem. And since the call this am to them, I have received an incoming call with a different picture id - different name, different pic - 2 seperate entries - def a phone problem.

Will be taking it in today for new phone replacement and not leaving until I am given a new phone and they transfer the phone book over to the new one. I can live without the pics that were new - would rather get the phone working properly before I hit day 31.

    Thanks.

Re: A900 problems with the photo caller ID

Had same problem with replacement phone. I called customer service and the rep I got today actually heard of this problem. He thinks it may be a corrupt file when transferring the information from the prior phone to this one. And when transferring it to the replacement, the file was already corrupt , so in essence just was passed on.

Since I am on a corporate account, the Spritn store was not very cooperative and, therefore, opted not to go that same route and I am being sent out a replacement phone. Since it is a warranty issue, I am not boud to the 30 days, that is just for exchanging phones if not happy with it and not apply to when there is a problem.

New phone being sent out and I will then manually enter my phone book. Fingers crossed that that will be the end of the problem.
