I have a (former) AT&T sim card, which has so far had 4 different homes, an LG G4015, a Siemens CX65, a Nokia 3595i, and now my Samsung sgh-e760. No problems whatsoever with reception or call dropping until I bought the e760, which leads me to think its not the service provider that is causing this. Whats the deal? Is there anything I can do to fix it? Its the biggest pain in the a**, ANY suggestions would be very welcomed.

Re: major e760 call dropping problem
When I first got my LG PM225, I had a problem with calls dropping, all the time. I was starting to think my phone was a piece of crap, until I realized this is the first phone I've ever had with a built-in internal antenna, and I was holding my hand over where the antenna is located inside the phone. This was blocking my reception enough to drop a call when I was between towers. Now, I hold my phone near the bottom, away from the antenna, and my reception is much better. My partner had the same problem with his Samsung A840, and once he started holding his phone they way I hold mine, his problem went away too. Give it a try and let us know if it helps.
This is how I hold my phone, as the antenna is located near the top.
EDIT: Oops! I just realized this phone is missing the GSM 850mhz band, which might be the source of your problem, not the internal antenna! AT&T and Cingular still rely pretty heavily on the 850mhz band, and European tri-band phones often go to roaming or have poor service due to the lack of that frequency.Last edited by Brad729; 07-05-2006 at 10:06 AM.
