Voice mail help please? ( SGH-a707 / 'Sync' )

OK, this is going to sound pretty pathetic...but I don't know how to access my voice mail.
I've checked the manual, the website, and tried about 10 times. Doesn't work. The manual says to follow the voice prompts, but all I'm getting from those is something about a password and a pound key that doesn't show up on the diagram in the user's manual.
So...anyone care to help me listen to my voice mail? A nice, step-by-step guide would be useful if you can. (Simple terms, please. I'm not a genius.)

Is it asking you to make up a password? Because my voicemail requires a password to get into it. It may be asking you to make up a password, and when you're done to press the pound button. That's just what I'm guessing...

Yeah that's what it's doing. And I have no clue what it means.
What is the pound button?

The pound key is on the right side of the 0, star key is to the left of the 0.
