Samsung has announced that it will use something called Sandbridge Technologies’ software-switched radios in handsets created in the future. The new radios can be hot-programmed to work with CDMA, GSM, WiMAX, and LTE networks which will allow Samsung handsets made in the near future to roam and without any problems of finding a compatible wireless network.
The downside is that the frequency support will be hard-wired and will not be able to be programmed.
