help with data transfer sphm320zss

I am trying to upload photos from this SPH M320 flip phone to my PC using a usb data transfer cable. The phone shows connection as a modem, but the PC is not recognizing the phone. XP Pro is the OS. No cd came with the phone. How can I transfer photos? Email is not an option.
