Broken screen

I dropped my phone and the screen and lcd broke. I bought a replacement lcd screen and put it on the phone, but when I went to turn it on, the screen is completely white. I can still make calls, but I just can't see anything because the screen is white. I was thinking maybe the replacement I bought was broken, but I bought two replacements and they both turn white. Did I do something wrong? Did I not connect something correctly?
