Hi all,
Im running a free ringtones site, and I dont have any liscense for my content.
Yesterday I got an email from 'MCPS-PRS Alliance, the licensing body representing songwriters, publishers and composers in the UK' asking for licsense. Does anybody has expirience with them, or is there's anyway I can turn my ringtones legal by changing there names or something similar?
Thanks.

#1. MP3 ringtones or MIDI?
#2. Are you charging real money?
If its MP3 you're screwed... you ARE using THEIR material without license. MIDI ringtones are sneaking round as "Interperetations of anothers' work"...
as long as you are not making money from the "selling" of those MIDI's (because you would be selling another's intellectual property using their song) you should be okay

That's a big relief, since I do offer free ringtones and all are MIDI. Are you sure about it? Maybe it's illegal to offer the ringtones with the exact artist and song name or something like this?

I'm at a loss - not being familiar with the British version of this battle...
