Using Google Sync to Transfer Contacts:

Using a Google account you can sync the contacts stored on the HTC One X, after which you can re-sync the contacts from the account with your Sony Xperia Z2a. By doing so, you will easily transfer the contacts from one phone to another using only your Google account. To perform this method:

  1. Sign in with your Google account on the HTC One X
  2. From the home screen, drag the "notification" bar down using two fingers
  3. Tap "Settings" and go to "personal"
  4. Tap "Accounts & Sync" > "Google"
  5. Chose an account and then clear > mark the check box next to "Contacts". Alternatively, you can tap "Menu" > "Sync all"
  6. Switch to the Sony Xperia Z2a and access the "Settings" menu
  7. Go to "Accounts" and register the same Google account as the one used on the One X
  8. Set the account so that it can sync contacts with your Sony smartphone

Using the "Import / Export" Function:

You can use the "import / export" option in the people application in order to export the contacts stored on the One X. Once the VCF file is exported, it can then be transferred (either via email or PC) to the Xperia Z2a. Then, the file's contents can be imported through the contacts app, as explained below:

  1. Launch the "People" app on the One X
  2. Go to the "People" tab and press "Menu"
  3. Tap "Manage contacts" > "Import / Export contacts"
  4. Select to "Export to phone storage"
  5. Pick an account and ensure that you remember the file's name for future use
  6. Press "OK" to export the file
  7. Launch the email app on your One X and compose a new email
  8. Attach the vCard file to the email and send it to your own Gmail address
  9. Switch over to the Xperia Z2a and open the email
  10. Download the VCF file attachment, and launch the "Phone" application
  11. Access the "Contacts" tab and press "Menu"
  12. Tap "Import contacts", and select to import the contacts from the SD card or internal storage (depending on where the VCF file is located)
  13. Follow any self-explanatory steps to complete the operation

NOTE: after the VCF file has been created on the One X, it can be transferred to the Xperia Z2a via a computer, by connecting both smartphones to it via USB, and manually transferring the VCF file from the X to theZ2A's "sdcard" directory. Then, the file can be imported via "People" as explained above

Sending Contacts via "Send Anywhere":

If you're looking for a third party application that can transfer your contacts from one phone to another, then "Send Anywhere" might be what you've been looking for. Send Anywhere is an app that can transfer numerous file types as well as contacts via a P2P connection.

  1. Go to the Play Store and install "Send Anywhere" on your One X and Xperia Z2a
  2. Once installed, open the application on both smartphones
  3. From the One X, tap "Send" > "Contacts"
  4. Mark the contacts you wish to transfer and tap "Send"
  5. Lastly, choose a method of transfer. You can tap "Receive" on the Xperia Z2a, and enter the transfer code that's been randomly generated on the One X. Alternatively, tap "Generate QR Code" on the One X, and scan the code with the Z2a's camera in order to start the transfer
