Back Up & Restore App Data:
- Launch Settings
- Scroll to Personal and tap Backup & reset
- Enable Back up my data to back up app data, settings, and Wi-Fi passwords to your backup account
- Enable Automatic restore to allow app data, settings, and passwords to be restored automatically the next time you reinstall the apps or sign in with the backup account
Back Up & Restore Contacts:
- Open Contacts
- Access All contacts
- Select an account type and the account with which you want to sync the contact
- Ensure the Contacts check box is ticked
- Tap Menu > Sync Now
NOTE: you can restore contacts the next time you log in with the backup account.
Back Up Media Files on a Windows PC:
- Connect the Android device to the computer via USB
- Enable File Transfer / Media device when prompted or from the Notification area
- Open the File Explorer on the computer
- Copy and paste the files in the desired backup location on the computer
- After the transfer is done, eject the phone storage via system tray and safely disconnect the phone from the USB cord
Restore Media Files form a Windows PC:
- Connect the Android phone to the computer via USB
- Enable File Transfer / Media device at the prompt or from the Notification area
- Open the File Explorer on the computer
- Locate the media file backups on the PC storage
- Copy and transfer the backup files back to the phone storage, preferably in the Media directory
- After the transfer is complete, eject the phone storage via system tray and safely disconnect the device form the USB cord
