Back Up & Restore App Data:
- Open Settings
- Scroll to and tap Backup & Reset
- Enable Back up my data to back up app data, settings, and passwords to your backup account
- Enable Automatic Restore to allow app data, settings, and passwords to be restored automatically when signing in with the backup account or when reinstalling apps
Back Up & Restore Contacts:
- Launch Contacts
- Access All contacts
- Select an account type and the account you want to use for syncing
- Tick the Contacts check box
- Tap Menu > Sync Now
NOTE: Contacts can be restored automatically the next time you log in with the backup account, or by manually syncing the account data, including contacts, with the Android phone.
Back Up Media Files on a Windows PC:
- Connect the Android device to the PC via USB
- Enable Media device / File transfer on the phone
- Launch the File Explorer on the PC
- Locate the media files on the smartphone and copy them
- Transfer the files to the desired backup location on the PC
- Once done, eject the phone storage via system tray and safely disconnect the phone from the USB port
Restore Media Files from a PC:
- Establish a USB connection between the phone and computer
- On the phone, enable Media device / File Transfer
- Open the File Explorer on the computer
- Navigate to the media file backups on the computer
- Transfer the files to the phone storage, preferably in the folders from where they originate
- Once the transfer is done, eject the phone storage via system tray and safely disconnect the device from the USB port
