What is the MSID #. I just purchased A840 and noticed that the phone number is mine but the MSID # is not. What is it and how do i change it? Thanks

well if YOU change your msid you won't recieve your phone calls or be able to call you voicemail. and sprint can't do it. it's a system generated number. sometimes it's the same sometimes it's different.

Did you port your number or replace a previous phone? I have the same thing in my phone. In my case, I ported a Cingular number to Sprint, and there was a temporary number assigned to the phone until the port was complete. The temp. number and the MSID were the same. Now that the port is complete, the number is my old Cingular number, and the MSID is still the same as the temp. number.
Would you like some cheese with that whine?

Hola mucho gusto, yo trabajo en Costumer Care en Sprint y me he dado cuenta que al hacer activaciones de telefonos, el numero MSID es casi siempre el primer numero de telefono que fue asignado al equipo, como si fuera un "sub-ESN", y pues puedes intentar hacer programaciones manuales pero aun asi necesitas un numero que se llama MSL, que cada celular tiene uno diferente y este numero es como una clave para que puedas abrir las opciones de activacion manual, ese numero nosotros lo brindamos en el momento que se comunican con Costumer Care marcando *2 para activar telefonos.
