so, basically I can't really complain about the actual coverage for the sprint service, but I still wish my family would have chosen a GSM carrier for sim cards because I like gadgets too much to deal with just one phone at a (two year) time. My question is: If I purchase a second phone (for instance a treo at full price or off ebay) in addition to my current "blade" would it be possible to "activate" the treo once and then swap the phones out for eachother on a whim by doing an esn swap? Does this cost anything as if I am activating each time I would do this? Also, if this is possible, could I share the same vision plan on each?
thanks
adam

i was talking to some people at work about this and I have come up with some other points around this.
the first is something that I hadn't thought of: Does my contract get renewed for two years each time I do a swap?
and..though there shouldn't be a charge for an esp swap, is it possible that swapping phones may result in errors in my billing and plan (i am on a family plan for approx 6000 minutes with 3 others)? and will sprint eventually become fed up for some reason with me swapping phones and threaten to charge a huge fee?

1. No, you won't have to renew your contract, unless you make changes to your plan.
2. Sprint has billing errors naturally, swapping phones won't make it any worse.
3. Sprint can not become 'fed up' with you swapping phones, since it was not stated in your contract.

you CAN swap esns back and forth BUT what they do NOT tell you is, there is a 36.00 charge applied to BOTH phones on your next bill and they do NOT list it as a esn swap on your bill, it will say ther charges: to make u think its something other than esn swap. they pulled that with me, i called BEFORE going there and asked, does it cost for an esn swap, they said NO... yeah, 3 months later, i was charged QUITE a few dollars, that i will NOT mention here for privacy reasons.. and the fact that someone else was involved in it with me, we had swapped phones, when i bought a new phone, i gave them my old sanyo 8200.. and sold sprint back the lg pm 225, that we paid 80.00 for, and took a lowsy 20 bux for it! =( it was brand new.. =(

I have a Sprint Blackberry with a bad ESN due to an unpaid balance, is there anything you can do to help?
Thanks!

swapping esn's shouldnt renew your contract, but you do have to watch them on this one. on several occasions i have delt with a CSR that accidently renewed a customers contract when i called in an esn swap for a replacement phone or whatever. just make sure and verify that they didnt not reset your contract date.
