So I have been out of my contract for over 2yrs. now and am looking for a new phone. I e-mailed Sprint who told me that I am eligible for the up to $150 rebate with a 2yr. contract and that I can simply go into any Sprint store and the associate can help me out.

My question is this though. Does anyone think I would be able to get a better deal than just the $150 off, if I were to call a rep of Sprint from their toll free number and tell them that I had been looking at other networks and deals and have come across some good offers, however I would like to stay with Sprint and am willing to sign a new contract, if they could hook me up with a really good deal on a new phone? (If I stay with Sprint I'm looking to get the Samsung A920) Or would that basically be a waste of time? I have heard a few people here and there talk about how they were going to cancle their service with Sprint and when they called, the rep. did almost anything they possibly could short of handing over the deed to their own house, to keep them with the company. Most were given new phones for free or a mere $50 or so (Or so they say anyhow, there's no real way of knowing for sure the reliability). Thanks

Hmm, honestly I doubt you'll get more than $150 credit on a new phone, but you should definitely tell them you heard about the customer loyalty discount for people with Sprint over 4 years, and ask them if it's 25% like you heard. (They might only give you 15% off but if you play your cards right you can get a 25% monthly service discount!!!)

Call 877.812.1223 and tell them how long you've been a customer, than tell them you heard a friend tell you they got this 25% loyalty discount for over 4 years of doing business with them. That should be all you have to do, but let me know how it turns out either way.

Re: Re-newing contract and new upgraded phone?

i did the same exact thing today. renewed with new phones. i was threatening to close 2 out of my 3 lines that were out of contract. at first they tried to ask me to pay full price for the phones, i quoted the prices from other companies... long story short, once i hung up, i had extended my contract for 2 yrs, purchased 2 PPC6700's for a total of 400 (or 200 each) current Retail is $600 each, and comparable providers sell their pda brick for no less than $300ea. so i saved $800 there. they also hooked it up with free internet on my second line ($20 value) when all is said and done, i have 3 lines 2200 minutes, free roaming/nights@7/pcs2pcs/wknds/unlim text for mine/100 texts for line 2/500 texts for line 3/vision package on mine for 20/FREE vision package on line 2 for evar.

all for 138+tax (including a 23% corporate discount).
so you can definetely get them to hook it up.

    1st post.

Wow, sweet deal STi.4.n.i! Also, welcome to the forums! Yes, it's true that if you are out of contract, you can negotiate a really good deal for yourself by agreeing to renew the 2yr agreement, this is a good way to get discounts on phones and also a good way to negotiate the terms of any discount that might apply to you. There's a thread for that too, somewhere around here...

hmm, i called and said something about that, first she said i can get 5% off my monthly bill, then i said well my friend got 20% and she came back and gave me $50 off my next bill. She said i will be eligable for the big loyalty discount later this year. So i will just keep calling back, the lady i had wasnt very friendly either so ill try again next week and hopefully get someone more friendly and get her to do it for me. My friends all hate be because i get free stuff and discounts from sprint all the time, i just tell them get a phone company and stick with them, it pays off in the end.

This is true much of the time. If your account is in good standing and you have good payment history and have been with the company for a while the account services specialist can work things out for you. IMO the $150.00 is not much especially since the ETF just went up to $200.00.

Sure all that is well and good... IF YOU DON"T GIVE A HOOT ABOUT BEING HONEST AND MAKING IT THROUGH LIFE WITH A CLEAN CONSCIENCE. But I guess that is too old school for some people. I'll never understand it!

I was honest my friend works for Centenial Wireless and has been trying to get me to switch over to Centenial, I was just letting people know how I got my hookup from Sprint. If Sprint is going to go out of their way to keep me as a customer they should be giving everyone the deals like they gave me not charging people extra for the same services that they can really give out.

actually, you can get up to about $300 off if u get what u want off of the Sprint website...ive seen web discounts of up to $150 and web specials up to $60 sollars of with mail in rebates of up to $150 depending on which phone you buy.
When you talk to them over the phone, you can basicly get the same deal and some free features added to your plan like unlimited text and free web, even free B.T.
