I have a sprint phone that was bought about 2 years ago. I am currently looking for a prepaid service, but would like to be able to use my old sprint phone with it. Is there any way I would be able to do this?

Nope. It's far cheaper to go with a contract and a plan, than any prepaid, and Sprint phones won't work on the prepaid network.

Re: Using old sprint phone for prepaid?

Thanks for the reply Tammyt. For my situation, prepaid would actually be much cheaper. The phone will only be used when my husband needs to let me know he's going out with friends after work.. if it weren't for that, I wouldn't even need a phone.

Thanks again for the info on the phone working with prepaid. Much appreciated

You are wrong tammy, I think sprint phones can work on a variety of prepaid services such as Liberty Wireless or Virgin Mobile. I am not sure about the virgin mobile, but liberty wireless definitely uses Sprint phones. Infact it dont use anyother phones then sprint phones.

To clear up the confusion, I will say that it's possible. Many of the prepaid services that resell airtime on Sprint's network will not activate a Sprint-branded phone, though some of them might. It's a matter of calling the right people and asking the right questions. They must be a Sprint MVNO (you can try googling "Sprint MVNO" to get some results) to even consider activating the phone, because it definitely will not work on OTHER networks.

I know that suntelpcs.com uses the sprint network, you could try calling them. virgin uses their own phones so they are out of the question. good luck
