My wife and I have two phones on a SERO plan. Each is $30/month with 500 minutes, unlimited texting, unlimited data. Not sure when nights and weekends start, I think 7pm. We also have 5% discount (not sure if that ports).
Anyway, we want to join our parent's iPhone plans (our plans are only $40/month so we're willing to pay the extra $10/month). However we'd love to sell our plan so that we can offset the cost of the iphone and help others save some money in the long run.
Anyone know how to do this so that we can keep our phone numbers (port them to ATT) and still sell the plan and avoid the ETF for each account?
Thanks.

Re: How to sell/transfer my SERO plan without losing my phone number
Greetings, I'm interested in taking over both of your SERO contract. As to your question: "Anyone know how to do this so that we can keep our phone numbers (port them to ATT) and still sell the plan and avoid the ETF for each account?"
I'm not 100% sure, but I believe you have to do a TOL (Transfer Of Liability - "contract takeover") first, then port the number. The person taking over the contract will be issued a new phone number (on both lines), which you can then port the original number to AT&T.
You have to keep in mind, porting a number to another carrier while an existing carrier is active, will lead to auto termination which will result in a ETF. I can do the math for you if you give me a good deal. Please let me know. Thanks.

Do you think it would work if we added a third account to SERO (with existing phone so no contract) and then when we did transfer of liability to the third account. Then port out our numbers?

Re: How to sell/transfer my SERO plan without losing my phone number
I am sorry to inform you but this is in no way possible. You can do one or the other, transfer the liability of the SERO plan to someone else and lose the numbers or port the numbers out and pay the ETF on each line, not both. Say you do the TOL first so now youe phone numbers are in this other dudes name...the minute you port those numbers out it cancels the lines, there is no grace period to put a new number on those lines while they are being ported over to AT&T. Maybe your thinking you can change the phone numbers first then port your numbers over? Nope, when you change the numbers they original numbers go back into the vast pool of nubers available to everyone and you have a 1 in 10 million chance t get them again because you cannot choose your number at any cell phone carrier. I am a sprint employee and have run into this issue a couple times and in short it is as I said in the beginning impossible.

Re: How to sell/transfer my SERO plan without losing my phone number
That stinks. I guess I could get rid of my number and use google voice. I've had that number for years. At least if google voice stays free I wouldn't have to worry about cancelling my number ever again. bugger!
So couldn't I add a third line, then call in and switch which number is on which line (I've done that before). Then port out my number which cancels the new line, but within the 30 day trial period?Last edited by abwhitney; 11-30-2009 at 10:36 AM. Reason: Auto-merged Double post

You can call in and add other people to your SERO account. One account, two phones/contracts. Just try a few reps until you find one who knows what they're doing.

Does this plan already have Text messaging added? That is not normally included. Thanks.
