Somebody paid $200 for that phone. The right thing would be to try and get it back to them. Wouldn't you want somebody to do that for you if you lost something of value?

If the lady has paid all of her bills to Sprint, including the ETF, then I would think if SHE called Sprint and asked them to release the esn to you then I would think that you could then put the phone on your account. However, if she still owes them money I would doubt if they will release the phone for your use.

    1) If she still owes money on the account, that ESN will be locked, and stay locked, until the account balance is cleared.

    2) If the account balance is cleared and account is closed, the ESN will be cleared automatically.

    3) If the account balance is up-to-date, not overdue, and the account is still active with the phone on it, the ESN is locked to that account.

But if she lost her job and doesn't seem to care about the phone, she most probably owes money on the account and it is a lost cause.

You could probably use it with WiFi and that's about it.

I have an Evo BTW, I LOVE it!
