ok so ya my contract expire in about 2 weeks. What happens when it expires?
Also i went to T-Mobile the other day to check out the v360. They are talking about some $120 with 2 year contract. They said upgrades were 2 year contracts also. If i were to buy the phone off of ebay, would i have to pay an activation fee and still extend my contract?
Or is their a way i can get the Price listed on the phone for $99.99 after rebates?

If you buy any T-Mobile phone off Ebay all you would need to do is put your sim in the new phone with no worries. You don't have to pay an activation fee, if you renew your contract for 2 more years they will discount the price of a new phone.

Huevos, you can most certainly have the listed price at the store. However, the prices listed inside the store says "Price with activation." You will need to activate another line of service in order to get that price.

A V360 with a new line of service is $150 minus $50 mail-in rebate. Also, there is a $35 activation fee for that. So the final price is really $185 - $50 = $135. If you do not want a new line, you're better off doing an upgrade at the store. You also have the option of doing a 1 year upgrade, I think the V360 comes out to about $200 with a 1 year extension.

You can most definately purchase a V360 from ebay. However, be aware that most phones sold on Ebay are not covered by T-Mobile's warranty. Even if it is a T-Mobile branded phone, it won't be covered by T-Mobile's warranty and you cannot get it insured. The reason for this is because you cannot, no matter what you do, convince T-Mobile that you bought a brand new phone on Ebay. If you buy a phone from a T-Mobile store, you will walk out with a BRAND NEW phone, with a 1 year limited warranty, and will have up to 14 days to get insurance on it.

Walmart only sells phones at a discount for new activations. For upgrades, they sell the phones at full price.

You're really better off just doing the upgrade. I know that lots of people think they can just cancel and re-sign up but you can't. When you cancel, T-Mobile gives you 90 days to change your mind and come back. Within those 90 days, if you decide to come back to T-Mobile, you get your old line turned right back on. After 90 days, you can get the new activation price.

Yeah, i agree... just go with the upgrade! Unless you dont mind the 90 day wait for a whole new line again... Richie is very good with things of this sort, trust him. He knows the ins and outs of everything Tmobile... if he recommends it, id do it.

You have the option of 1 year if you call customer care or if you visit a REAL T-Mobile store (not an authorized dealer). See if you qualify for any rebate offers. Currently, the the V360 is $99.99 with a 1 year extension AFTER $50 mail-in rebate for customers who qualify. Call and see if you qualify, and if not now, then ask when you will qualify. Also, you have the option of buying the phone without a contract extension $280.

Take advantage of your options. 2 year contract is the cheapest way to get a phone. By doing a 1 year extension, you may spend a little more money, but you have to think to yourself... is saving $50 worth a 2 year contract?

I found this listing on ebay . (ends on Feb 19, 2006)

Purchasing through ebay would not extend your contract. Take into consideration the extra $12 for the shipping and handling. Also, ask the seller if the phone has a warranty. The seller says he bought it a T-Mobile store, how long ago? The listing says the battery was installed...however, would you install the battery without installing a SIM card? If this guy made just 1 phone call with this V360, then the warranty is already less than 1 year.

Just for clarification on the upgrade pricing, the prices and available handsets vary for each customer. Make sure you call T-Mobile Customer Care to find out what is available to you. You'll have 3 options for any upgrade:

No contract extension - full price
1 year contract extension - discounted price, and a possible rebate
2 year contract extension - discounted or rebate to bring the handset down to the lowest possible price.

See I did go to a tmobile owned store, and they want me to sign up for a two year contract and pay 120 for the phone.

Quick Question: DO i have to wait exactly a year to get the price, or do i have to just wait the 11 months?

No sir, you do have the option of doing a 1 year extension at the retail store. Are you sure it wasn't an authorized dealer instead? Like the trainer and myself said, call customer care to see what price you qualify for.

Also, if you are currently under a 1 year contract, then you have to wait 11 full months from the time you bought your last discounted phone. If you do a 2 year extension, the discount will be huge, and you will have to wait 22 months before you can get another discounted phone.
