I've read the reviews on cnet.com and it seems as if its a hit or miss phone. I was wondering if the phone really does crash all the time like users say it does. I wouldn't be using it for a business or anything. Just to call, txt, IM, and surf the web. If not this phone I would look into the Blackberry Curve 8320. Thanks guys!

Re: T-Mobile Wing - yes or no?
go for the blackberry... its faster lighter and has the same capabilities. I had the wing, and honestly it wasnt as nice as i thought it would be. First off is too heavy and after a while it gets annoying. Color is just terrible. Feel and texture is nice though... You get a good grip on it. Then again, the phone does freeze alot, at least it did when i had it. And i wasnt even running many programs at once.
So from my experience, id go for the blackberry. Wifi is not that good on it though.

Thank you. I was afraid of the phone freezing up. I really liked the feel and keyboard to the Wing. I've heard T-Mobile is very good with customer service and letting you return a phone within a certain time period so maybe I can do that.

yes, indeed. T-mobile in my opinion has a great customer service department. Always available and friendly. They are willing to help out the customer. And I've gone through AT&T, Verizon, Virgin, Sprint and MetroPCS.
Ironically, I just ordered a wing today. Its a gift though, my friend really wanted it, so i got it and its supposed to arrive tomorrow.

Well a few more days then my plan is up. Maybe I'll give the Wing a shot and if I don't like it I'll return it for the Blackberry.

no, get the shadow.

Re: T-Mobile Wing - yes or no?
the shadow is not a great phone. matter of fact is, its horrible. the two letters per button, the small screen, the lack of memory, etc makes it a bad windows phone. if you are just starting out and the demand for productivity is minimal, go for it; if not, forget it.

Re: T-Mobile Wing - yes or no?
The original poster has been locked in for some time it looks like. For other people who may want some info...
The Wing really is hit or miss. The built-in IM client is horrid, the original radio software is bad and the update is worse. There are a few bugs and a lot of bloat. Straight out of the box, the wing is pretty bad.
That being said... If you get the right software running on the Wing and are willing to poke at some things that could be potentially hazardous to the continued operation of your phone (and your warranty) if you mess up royally, the Wing can be a great phone. A revision to a smaller page pool to free up RAM, some support software, or even a proper cook takes the Wing from being "Ick!" to "Slick!".
If you are willing to invest some time and brainpower into the Wing, it's a great phone. If not, don't have high expectations.

Re: T-Mobile Wing - yes or no?
My experience with the Wing was good, though I learned to live with a few shortcomings:
I "upgraded" from a BB Pearl to a Wing when they first came out. I think the email service on the BB is second to none, however, I needed the ability to collaborate on work documents. I had a few issues with syncing the BB as well, though my sig. other (who has a 8320) has none of the issues I had. They may have originated from my computer.
For myself, the keyboard was easier. I never got used to the smaller keys and found the overall size manageable. However, when I switched to a n95, I realized how bulky it was.
Touch-screen - used this daily and am missing it. I liked it better than the trackball, but found I had to re-align it every few weeks.
The processor is quick enough for messaging, slow for all other programs. I had to constantly close programs for lack of RAM. I had multiple programs to fix these issues, which at times would cause more problems, e.g. when I ran the slide2unlock and resource management programs, it'd be common to "hard re-boot" a few times a day.
The battery life was decent, the screen was poor in bright light (here in Hawai'i). BB O/S is better than WM6 in my opinion, both better than my Symbian phones (n95 and g810).
Again, I use my phones primarily for email and pictures and I felt the Wing was competent. I'd probably purchase one over the 8320.

I like my wing and so does my girlfriend. Especially creating our own ringtones an backgrounds for free.
Remember this, with 3rd party software, you can make any phone fly and run like a race horse.
