Today, I dropped my phone and the screen cracked.

I filed a claim and paid the $130 deductible. I am fully insured by the way.

I'm 80% sure I will be getting a refurbished phone most likely from asurion.

I have read a lot of reviews regarding refurbished phones from asurion

malfunctioning a lot (which I hope it won't happen to me).

Asurion also said that I should inspect the phone for any malfunctions

    and report within 7 days.

So my question is, lets say the phone I get is fine, but starts to malfunction

a month later. Can I take it to T-mobile and show that the phone is

malfunctioning and get a new phone from T-mobile? Or is T-mobile going to

say something like "oh, the phone is not purchased from T-mobile so we

cannot help you." etc. Then would I have to file another claim with Asurion

and pay another $130 for a stupid malfunctioning phone that lasted 1 month?

How does this work? If the Asurion phone malfunctions after a month, am I still

considered under T-mobile warranty and get a new replaced phone (since I'm

    keeping my full insurance)?

There is still a warranty on the replacement phone regardless. So, if there is a problem you call Asurion and they will walk you through some kind of verification process, then they'll send you another phone without having to pay the deductible again.

If the problem keeps happening despite a refurbished phone each time go to T-Mobile directly and they should replace the defective phone with another model. You may have to complain a bit to get to this point though.

Re: Question about T-Mobile asurion refurbished phone

I went through a similar scenario a couple years back where I had to file an insurance claim for a replacement phone and then the replacement phone started acting up. Since the issues with the replacement phone were covered under the manufacturer's warranty, I just took the phone straight to the carrier and they replaced it right there in the store, no questions asked.

Did they replace it with the same model or a different model?
