BlackBerry Bold Problem

Ok, my friend (whom is currently at work, and I am the tech support guy), has a Blackberry Bold, through Telstra.

She's trying to install Live Messenger, but can't get it to work. She downloaded it once, but it won't appear in her downloads folder, and going to blackberry/livemessenger she gets throughthe acceptance page, but no download is present.

Since I am unfamiliar with this phone/carrier, I am trying to find someone whom is and can give some advice.

How userfriendly is the Bold?

Hearing your problem worrys me because I want a Blackberry for my girlfriend and she is smart but not patient with gadgets.
