I have Verizon with unlimited pic and texting, no data plan.
I desire:A great organizer
A good camera
Convenience
WiFi
Excel, Word would be nice.
I don't need:Internet access
Email
Basically, I want to keep up with tasks, events, notes, reminders, etc. that is the main reason for a PDA for me. I will be buying off Ebay so I am limited to the choices there. I prefer to keep it $200.00 or below on Ebay. I have looked at Palm as well since you can edit Excel and Word are all Blackberry's VIEW only?
Again the main needs are calls, texting, and organization. What do you think is best available from what Ebay offers for the price market?

I would suggest a phone with Windows Mobile built-in. I had Verizon's equivalent of the HTC Mogul at one point, and enjoyed all the features it had to offer but exchanged it out for a Curve because of the bulkiness and poor battery life.

A BlackBerry or Windows Mobile device will give you what you need for organization. Keep in mind, Verizon will require you to buy a data plan with a smartphone device.

Re: Lost in Blackberry world choices please help.
Doesn't Blackberry mandate the data plan for their devices...it is required by them...since every carrier who allows or uses Blackberrys say a data plan is required...
For example, here is the fine print on data plans with Sprint:
"Data plan required on all active BlackBerry smartphones on Sprint PCS. Voice & data may be purchased separately. Calls made without a voice plan: airtime (0.20/min.) plus long distance ($0.20/min.). Additional BlackBerry server & license fees may apply. Taxes excluded. No cash back. Requires activation when purchasing."

I agree, a Curve would be great. Goodluck with your search...
However, I personally caution against going on eBAY for a Blackberry..try Craigslist! I know here in NY BB's on Craigslist are a dime a dozen and are cheaper than eBAY for sure..
