I have a BLACKBERRY 8320 TITANIUM. This is my first "smart phone" and I love this thing. But Blackberry does not honor their warranty. If you must get one, buy insurance. The USB connection breaks because of poor design. I have had two fail. One had insurance, the other did not. Blackberry claims that this does not happen and WILL charge you $180. There is no escalation. I got the device back with a broke screen and no battery (new one too). Poor design, poor software, and the worst customer support. You have been warned.

    Thanks

How long did you have your 8320 before the USB got "broken" I have had mine since Sept 2008, and not a problem. You cell carrier should have been the one that replaced it the first year of owning the phone, and insurance, depending on which carrier you have it through, should have covered it as well. And you agree when you add the insurance that you will pay the deductible (T-mobile's is $130 through Asurion (the company that handles their cell phone insurance).

And it's a known problem with pretty much any device that use the mini usb connectors, that they can and do fail, so I'm not sure why RIM would say it's not.

    Re: my experience of Blackberry

I just got my first smart phone as well. BB Curve 8320. So far, my experience with BB has been RIMarkable. My previous carrier, which I will not mention, did not provide the best coverage. So, about a month ago, I went to a website that a friend mentioned and got a BB through AT&T. I'm very pleased with AT&T's coverage and even more epleased with my BB. The OS is probably not as flashy as a windows based phone, but it suits me very well. I like the full keyboard, but the trackball took a little getting used to, but now I can scroll through an e-mail, or a website like a pro.

@Sumacher, sorry this happened to you. The reason I picked the Curve is because it was highly recommended and recieved high marks on design, quality, and user friendliness. Hope I did not make the wrong decision.

LOL! That's SOME consensus! Two positives (3 counting your opinion) and one negative. I guess your side "wins". Right....
