Tons of new things have been added to the BlackBerry platform thanks to RIM, including the OpenGL ES support which allows BlackBerry developers create 3D graphics and games.

Then there's a new RIM-Adobe collaboration that allows you to create BlackBerry apps and content by using the Adobe Creative Suite content and the Adobe Flash Platform tech. The Adobe Creative Suite will let you import from Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator and teh Adobe After Effects into the BlackBerry app development tools.

RIM has also announced these new things as well:

    * BlackBerry Advertising Service – launching in 2010, will allow developers the ability to integrate ads into their BlackBerry apps.
    * BlackBerry Payment Service - launching in 2010, will allow enabling “in-application transactions and streamlined payment processes”.
    * BlackBerry Push Service – available in the first half of 2010, lets you deliver time sensitive alerts for all you developers with up to 8 KB of data to apps.
    * New Location Services - Cell Site Geolocation (”an alternative to GPS, providing an estimate of a smartphone’s location based on cell tower triangulation”), Travel Time (“incorporate estimated travel time within their applications for almost any destination in the US and Canada”), and Reverse Geocoding.
    * BlackBerry Theme Studio - will replace the Plazmic Content Developer’s Kit and will let you design themes, illustrations and animations with the BlackBerry Theme Builder and BlackBerry Composer.
