Transfer Audio Files from a Windows Computer:
- Connect the BlackBerry DTEK50 to your computer via USB
- Enable “Media device (MTP)” / “File Transfer (MTP)” at the prompt or from the “Notification” area
- Launch the File Explorer on the computer and locate the desired audio files
- Copy the files and transfer them on the phone storage, preferably in the “Media” directory under “Ringtones” / “Notifications” / “Alarms”
- After the transfer is complete, eject the phone storage via system tray and safely disconnect the device from the USB port
Change the General Ringtone:
- Tap “Apps” on the home screen
- Open “Settings”
- Scroll to “Device” and tap “Sound”
- Under “Call Ringtone & Vibrate”, tap “Phone ringtone”
- Select the desired ringtone and tap “OK”
- Optionally, you can turn “Also vibrate for calls” ON or OFF
Change the Ringtone of a Specific Contact:
NOTE: Custom ringtones cannot be assigned to contacts located on the phone’s internal memory or the SIM card.
- Open “Contacts”
- Select the desired contact and tap “Edit”
- Tap “Menu” > “Set ringtone”
- Select the desired ringtone and tap “OK”
Change the Notification Sound:
- Access “Settings”
- Tap “Sound & notification” under “Device”
- Tap “Default Notification Sound” under “Sound”
- Select a notification sound and tap “OK” to confirm
Enable / Disable Gmail Notifications:
- Open the apps drawer
- Launch “Gmail”
- Tap “Menu” and go to “Settings”
- Select an email account to change the notification options for
- Tap the “Notification” check box On or Off
