Can .mp3s be sent to phones?

My phone is the LG PM225. I dont have internet access so I am waiting on my data cable to come in the mail but I have a quick question before I get started. I found this website that lets me upload .mp3s from my computer and use them as ringtones. I just pick out what part of the song I want. I was just wondering will my phone play the .mp3s or is there something else I will need to do to get the ringtones?

with no internet access, you're gona have to wait for the data cable ruth. Although, I just looked up the specs on your phone and it doesn't say that it is mp3 compatible.

Ruth, when you get your data cable in, let me know. There is another type of file that I wanna see if it works when you send through the data cable to your phone. the file extension is .qcp. They are something similar to real tones. Just not mp3 tones.
