I actually do have a question, I am thinking of switching from Bell to Rogers, because I like the fact that I can purchase any GSM phone, get it unlocked, and get it activated at Rogers.

There is one major thing that, if it did not work, I would not go to Rogers.

I used to have Fido, and I know you could not use MSN on it (you could not talk to people). I do not use the browser based MSN, I use a text messaging version (to see my contacts and everything). Will this work on Rogers? With Fido, I recieved a message saying something like "Message Filter Error".

I still can't decide what I'm gonna do!
    • Bell vs. Fido
    • RAZR V3c vs. Nokia 8801 vs. Nokia 7380

PM me if you have any suggestions!

I haven't had a problem with my mobile internet. I have used the HTML version and the WAP browser and it has worked for yahoo and hotmail to check emails so far. If you have a different email address then you may want to try it on someone's phone first or I can try it here for you. If it works on one phone then it will work on all the phones as long as you are using the same browser. If you do buy a phone that isn't Rogers to begin with, you may have trouble setting up your browser but if you check it before you leave the store it will be fine. One more thing, make sure you get a data service package added to your plan when you active. It will save you lots of money and it will be easier to read your bill.

    Thank You very much!

I was actually thinking of (after switching to Rogers) to purchase an Unlocked Samsung D500 Slider!

Not sure why...but your concern seems quite unnecessary to me. It's quite basic stuff you're asking about, and it works fine. Txt base sms'ing is BAYYYYYSIC.

you register online on mobile msn., it sends a confirmation txt to your phone within a couple sec's. You register, configure, and you're off.

You get 2 initial txt's and that's it. CL or whatever to see who's online., and you carry on from there.

I was just asking because with Fido it does not work. The system actually rejects the message.

When I went to Rogers, they said it would not work, and when I went to wirelesswave they said they had no clue but they doubted it.

I need this feature because I am constantly travelling and need to keep in touch with friends / family who do not have cell phones.

Fido has a nice looking app for this although you do want to use it. I have used the text version of MSN messenger and it works fine.

Rogers will not officially UL your phone for you (at least without charging a Rediculous amount of money), however many Rogers dealers do ULing in store. There are many thousands of other places that UL as well.

It should cost you no more than $20 to UL a RAZR.
