I am currently locked on rogers 3-yr term with my w600i.
I don't like their service so I want to cancel and go with Fido pre-paid.
So my question is if I cancel I know I'm going to pay the cancelation fee ($200), thats fine I don't care since I will be saving a lot more in the long run. I currently pay $23-$24 a month for it but I barely use it at all so its best if i stick with prepaid($10).
So does that mean I would need to unlock my phone, I would have to pay someone $20 to unlock it and then what?
Or can i cancel and switch my plan to prepaid but they said that if i switch to rogers prepaid i would need to pay an additional $50 that doesnt make sense why i would need to pay to downgrade when i will be paying $200 to cancel...that should include the downgrade cost.
so my question is, i cancel....go to like pacific mall unlock my phone and then whats the next step?

Re: confused, cancelling with rogers to goto another provider
You can now port your number to Fido if its important to keep your number. Just call Fido to make the switch. Subsequently your service and contract will be ended with Rogers and you will be billed for your Cancellation Fee. If you do decide to make the switch I would appreciate it if you would contact me via Private Message so I can walk you through the steps.
Best of Luck!

Use this site if you like:
cellclients.com
The site helps you find individuals who want to take over your contract. I'm actually one of the developers and we are still in the trial mode and are fixing the bugs and typos....please provide us with any feedback
the service is also free...you just have to post your plan in our website and we will notify you when someone likes to take over your contract
cheers,
B
