w580i Ringtones for ROGERS wireless

hi i'm having difficult time on getting ringtones on my w580i from rogers

i think rogers blocked the mp3 capabilities

i tried the DRM trick and used the suite from sony ericsson and still didn't work

i also shorteneed the track and got it under 600 KB but still nothing and i'm all out of ideas

does anyone who has Rogers wireless got mp3's for their phone to work as ringtones

please help

Well... if you did your research under the Sony Ericsson thread, there is a most recent thread already started about this issue. But I'll fill in your blanks.

MP3's won't work just yet. Best way of doing it is in .wav format in .wma format using a coder. Kind of sucks but when I have more time I'll keep playing with the phone to find out what can be done.

you can debrand / flash the phone. then it will work, take to a phone shop near you
