The new Samsung Galaxy Attain has several voice-related features that make using this voice easy and convenient. Voice Control is the biggest single feature that allows you to do several things by just stating a command.

Calling Someone

Navigate to a Home screen panel, then touch Applications > Voice Control. At the audio prompt “Say a command”, say “Call”, followed by either a name from your current contacts or a phone number. Confirm your selection and the phone will initiate the call.

Texting Someone

Navigate to a Home screen panel, then touch Applications > Voice Control. At the audio prompt “Say a command”, say “Send Text”. At the prompt, say a contact name or telephone number. The new message opens, with the “To” field populated with your selections.

Emailing Someone

Navigate to a Home screen panel, then touch Applications > Voice Control. At the audio prompt “Say a command”, say “Send Email”. At the prompt, say a Contact name. You are prompted to select one of the following e-mail applications: Email, Gmail or mail@metro. A new message Compose screen opens, with the “To” field populated with your selections.

Access Applications

Navigate to a Home screen panel, then touch Applications > Voice Control. At the audio prompt “Say a command”, say “Go to”, followed by the name of the application (any default application can be brought up using this voice command).

Change Voice Control Settings

Navigate to a Home screen panel, then touch Applications > Voice Control. Press Menu, then touch Settings Select a setting for customization:

  • Confirmation: Select when the system asks you to confirm a name or number. Select Automatic, Always Confirm, or Never Confirm.
  • Adaptation: Train Voice Control to recognize your voice. Choose Adapt Voice, then follow the audio prompts.
  • Audio Modes: Set the level of audio assistance. Choose Expert Mode, Prompt Mode, or Readout Mode.
