    Turning Wi-Fi On or Off

    1. From the Home screen, drag down the Notification Panel.
    2. Then tap the Wi-Fi icon to turn the feature on.
    3. When Wi-Fi is turned on, your smartphone will scan and connect to any access point you have previously been connected to.

    Connecting to a Wi-Fi Network

    1. From the Home screen, press the Menu key.
    2. Then tap Settings -> tap Connections -> tap Wi-Fi.
    3. Under Wi-Fi networks you will see all the access point device names detected by your device.
    4. Tap the Wi-Fi network you would like to connect to.
    5. Enter the necessary password, if required and tap Connect.


    Manually Adding a New Network

    1. From the Home screen, press the Menu key.
    2. Then tap Settings -> tap Connections -> tap Wi-Fi.
    3. Tap Add Wi-Fi network.
    4. Tap Network SSID and enter the name of the access point.
    5. Then tap Security and select the correct security setting.
    6. In case the network is secured, you will need to enter the correct password in order to connect to it.
    7. To save the new information on your Galaxy S4 Active, tap Save.

    Turning Wi-Fi Hotspot On

    1. From the Home screen, tap Apps.
    2. Then tap Mobile Hotspot.
    3. To turn Portable Wi-Fi hotspot on, tap the Portable Wi-Fi hotspot Slider.
    4. In case your device is connected to a Wi-Fi access point, it will be disconnected form that access point before you can use the portable Wi-Fi feature -> tap OK to continue.

    Configuring the Wi-Fi Hotspot

    1. From the Home screen, tap Apps.
    2. Then tap Mobile Hotspot.
    3. To turn Portable Wi-Fi hotspot on, tap the Portable Wi-Fi hotspot Slider.
    4. You can use the preferred settings or tap Configure if you would like to edit the settings.
    5. Tap Network SSID and enter the desired SSID.
    6. Then tap Security and select the desired security feature.
    7. In case you decide to add a password, tap Password.
    8. Tap Hide my device if you want to make your network invisible.
    9. When you’re done editing the settings, tap Save.
    10. The mobile hotspot will shortly turn off and then back on with the settings you’ve just made.
    11. To configure the connection mode, tap the hotspot name.
    12. Then tap Allow all devices if you would like to allow devices that have the correct information to connect to your network. Otherwise, tap Only allowed devices and limit the connections.
    13. If you selected Only allowed devices, tap Allowed devices located at the bottom of the screen and tap the plus sign (+) to add the desired handsets to the allowed list.
    14. To return to the previous screen, press the Back key.
