Assigning a Ringtone for All Calls:
- While viewing a home screen, tap the "Menu" key on your device
- Select "Settings"
- Tap "Sound"
- Touch "Device ringtone" and choose one of the following options:
- To Select from the List:
- Tap the desired ringtone then press "OK"
- To add a music or audio file:
- Tap "Add" and choose one of the audio files. Tap either "Choose music track" or "Music Player", and then tap "Just once" or "Always"
- Select the desired audio file and then tap "OK"
Assigning a Ringtone to One Contact in Particular:
Note: Keep in mind that you cannot assign ringtones to individual contacts as long as they are saved on your SIM card
- Tap the "Contacts" icon located on the home screen
- Access the "Contacts" tab
- Select the desired contact
- Tap the "Edit" icon depicting a pencil
- Press "Ringtone" and select one of the following options:
- Tap "Default"
- Tap "Ringtones" then select the desired ringtone and press "OK"
- Tap "Go to My Files", navigate to the desired file and then tap the "bullet" point associated with the desired audio file. Press "Done"
- Tap "Save"
Transferring Audio Files from Your PC to your Smartphone:
Note: Your Galaxy Exhibit supports the following audio formats: MP3, AAC, AAC+, eAAC+, WMA, MPEG4, WAV and MIDI
- Connect your smartphone to your PC via the USB cable that came with your device
- Drag the "Status" bar down and tap "Connected as a media device", then select "Media device (MTP)"
- In the "AutoPlay" window that appears on your PC's display, click on "Open device to view files using Windows Explorer"
- Navigate to the desired music files located on your computer and copy them
- Navigate to your phone's disk drive then paste the music files to the desired folder
- Once the files have been transferred, safely disconnect your device from your PC
Transferring Audio Files from Your Mac to your Smartphone:
- If you don't have Samsung KIES downloaded and installed on your Mac, then navigate to samsung.com/kies and click on "Download for Mac OS", then follow any on-screen prompts
- Connect your smartphone to your Mac via the USB cable
- Drag the status bar down on your smartphone, then tap "Connected as a media device" > "Media device"
- Open Kies on your computer
- In the Kies window, click on "Music". (You can also click on the "Folder" icon(s) associated with "Internal memory" or "External memory". Choose the method you prefer)
- On your Mac, navigate to your music files then drag and drop them in Kies
- Once the transfer is complete, disconnect your smartphone from your computer
Adding a Recently Transferred Audio File in Your Notification Sound List:
- Tap the "Apps" icon located on the home screen
- Go to "My files" and tap "All files"
- Navigate to the desired audio file. (Remember that "sdcard0" represents your smartphone's internal memory, while "extsdCard" represents your SD card)
- Tap and hold the desired file then select "Copy"
- Tap "sdcard0"
- Select the "Notifications" folder
- Press "Paste here"
