Using "Back up my data":

When enabled, this particular feature is able to back up app data, Wi-Fi passwords and various phone settings to the Google Servers.

  1. On the home screen, press the "Menu" key
  2. Select "Settings" and press "Back up and reset"
  3. Tap "Back up my data" to enable the option

To Back Up Your Google Account:

  1. While on the home screen, press the "Menu" key on your device
  2. Go to "Settings" > "Back up and reset"
  3. Tap "Backup account" and then follow the on-screen prompts

Performing a Master Reset:

WARNING! Performing a master reset will result in loss of all the data that is stored on your device, including 3rd party applications, settings and more. Master resetting will return your device to factory settings. Content stored on the SIM and SD cards will not be affected. To perform a master reset:

  1. Press the "Menu" button on your device
  2. Tap "Settings"
  3. Tap "Backup and reset"
  4. Touch "Factory data reset"
  5. Read the warning message and press "Reset device"
  6. Tap "Delete all" to confirm
