NOTE: This is a follow-up on how to back up your apps, contacts and media files, explaining how you can restore them. If you want to learn how to create backups, please visit this link instead.

Restoring Applications:

  1. Log into your Google account if necessary
  2. Go to the home screen and press "Menu"
  3. Tap "Settings" and tap the "Accounts" tab
  4. Tap "Google" and select "Sync all"
  5. Press the "Back" button and tap "Backup and reset"
  6. Mark/clear the check boxes associated with "Backup my data" and "Automatic restore"

Restoring Contacts from a Google or Samsung Account:

  1. While on the home screen, press the "Menu" button
  2. Tap "Settings" and tap the "Accounts" tab
  3. Select either "Google" or "Samsung", depending on what type of account you've used to back up your contacts
  4. Tap your "email address" located at the top of the screen
  5. Mark the check box next to "Sync contacts". If the check box is already marked, tap "Sync now"

Restoring Contacts from the SD Card:

  1. Open the "Contacts" application
  2. Press the "Menu" button
  3. Select "Import / Export" > "Import from SD Card"
  4. Choose the account on which you wish to restore the contacts
  5. Select the VCF / vCard file containing the desired contacts

Restoring Media Files from the SD Card:

  1. While on the home screen, tap the "All apps" icon
  2. Tap "My Files" > "All files" > "SD card"
  3. Navigate to the location where the media files have been stored
  4. Tap and hold the file that you want to restore and tap "Move"
  5. Your device will now display the available memory locations. To move the file to a different location, tap the folder name or select "Create new"
  6. Tap "Move here"

Restoring Media Files from a Windows Computer:

  1. Use the USB cable to connect your smartphone to your computer
  2. Drag the "Status" bar down and tap "Connected as a media device" > "Media device"
  3. On your PC, in Auto-Run window, choose to browse the device's files / folders
  4. Open a new Windows Explorer window and navigate to where the media files are located on your PC
  5. Copy the files and paste them in the desired location on your phone's storage
  6. When the files have been transferred, safely disconnect your smartphone from the computer

Restoring Media Files from a Mac Computer Using Kies:

  1. Establish a connection between your Mac and smartphone via USB
  2. On your Grand Neo, drag the "Status" bar down. Then, tap "Connected as a media device" and mark the "Media device" check box
  3. Open Kies on your Mac
  4. In Kies, go to the "Back up / restore"
  5. Click the "Restore" tab
  6. Mark the check boxes associated with "Music", "Photo" or any other category of files that you want to restore. Optionally, you can mark the "Select all items" check box
  7. Click "Restore" and follow any additional on-screen prompts (if any)
  8. After the files have been restored, you can safely disconnect your smartphone
